Areas of work

Team building and team development
When under constant time pressure, it is easy to think that carving out dedicated time for team development is a luxury. However, without it teams will suffer, and over time, so too will their ability to carry out their work efficiently and effectively.

Team away days provide a vital opportunity for staff to step back from the day-to-day business, and offer time to review, reflect and make change. The two most frequent criticisms of away days are that they fail to address ‘the real issues’ and that ‘change is not taken forward after the event’.
My approach to facilitation ensures that the key issues are identified from the outset. It also establishes team ownership of the day and builds in follow-up to make sure that change is sustainable over time.

My approach is particularly suited to resolving long-standing, complex and intractable work issues.
Organisational change and the restructuring of services
Any organisational change and service restructuring requires careful consideration to ensure that change is owned by all levels of the company and is as smooth and efficient as possible. My approach is to work with the implications of the change, identify potential obstacles and areas of conflict and to address these issues.
Coaching, mentoring and supervision
These can be 1:1 sessions that focus on an individual’s development at work in specific areas such as leadership skills, the management of difficult staff or the transition into a new role and responsibility in the workplace. Coaching and supervision can also be usefully conducted with groups of staff.
Conflict resolution and mediation
Many staff problems and difficulties can easily spiral into costly and time-consuming procedures like tribunals and grievances. In the current climate, the workload generated by these problems is huge. By bringing in an external consultant at an early stage, issues can be resolved quickly and efficiently, avoiding the fall-out of a lengthy legal procedure.
Workshops
Creative and Persuasive Presentation Skills
Many presentations fail because little thought or planning has gone into the 'story' that needs to be told, and the needs of the audience. This workshop shows how to present yourself clearly and effectively, teaching skills that are useful for both formal presentations and for communicating your ideas at work.
Managing Conflict in the Workplace
Conflict and disagreement are a natural part of working life, and when harnessed effectively, can encourage debate and bring about positive change. This workshop focuses on using conflict constructively in order to enhance and strengthen teamwork.
Being an Effective Manager
This workshop explores the issues of leadership and authority. It addresses the challenge of being an inclusive and decisive manager, while getting the best from your staff.
All workshops are tailored to the specific needs of a team and organisation, and are co-facilitated by the actress and life coach Rebecca Lacey.
